If I have an email in my Inbox - and I manually click the Act Outlook 2010 addin (Create Act Contact), I have a choice of email addresses to create a new contact from.
If I pick an email I have already sent (in outlooks SENT ITEMS) where:
then the only address Acts CREATE contact presents me with is the address in the 'FROM' field - which is my email address - so of no use to me.
Is this by design - or is this something that can be changed via a setting I may have missed.

This is by design; there is not an option/setting that can be set to change it.
You may want to submit this as a feature request through the Share Your Ideas forum. Once submitted, other members have the opportunity to comment and vote (kudos) on the suggestion.
