I have a number of contacts that crash the database when I access their notes. Repair and reindexing did not fix. Any ideas how to sort this? Thanks

Sounds like a broken database to me. I would create an empty copy of the database and then export or import the information into a new database. You might want to get an ACT! Certified Consultant to help you out with it since it can be a little tricky. You can find an ACC near you by going to www.act.com/acc.

Have you tried using ACTDIAG using the db Rebuild options? That what I usually try first when I'm feeling corrupted.
Close ACT!, Start, Run, ACTDIAG, Database, List Database, Rite mouse clicky on the button just left of the db name and select the Rebuild options. Cheers - FSB
