Could not authenticate user....

ACT! by Sage 2010 Version 12.1.181.0, Hot Fix 1 running on Windows 7

 

I've been using this Publisher database for several years now without issue.  I am the Administrator.  Tried to login using my user name and password and it says "Could not authenticate user.  Verify user name and password and try again."

 

I have not forgotten my user name or password.  

 

I tried leaving password blank - no luck.  

 

I tried leaving user name and password blank - no luck.

 

I uninstalled ACT and SQL and re-installed - no luck.

 

I am able to login as other Standard users.

 

I am able to login to Demo and other databases.

 

HELP!  Thanks in advance.

I also cannot get past "Could not authenticate user" when trying to restore my ACT! 2009 V11.0 database on a different computer. I had to buy another disk/software package to get ACT back on a PC. The first problem is trying to restore my database and the second is registering the new software. It keeps giving me a website or phone number. I bought another software disc and have used my original serial number and key (original disc is lost and gone forever).

How do I restore my old database to a different computer running Windows 7? 

My laptop that was originally running the software has been converted to Windows 10 and will not run or install the V11.0 ACT! software.

Toomanymiles you will not be able to activate "ACT! by Sage 2010 Version" due to the changes made to the licencing servers last December, you will have to upgrade Act! if you still want to use it
