I have Act Sage 2007 and I am new to using this program. I have set up a lot of my contacts already and have been inputing any notes into the system as I go. One day last week when I was trying to check my history on a client I noticed that all of my notes were gone! I played around with it for awhile and discovered that there is a button on the left hand side that says layout. There are two versions. I clicked on one of them and all of my notes re appeared! This is all well and good except that everytime I leave a contact and go to another one or return to the previous one, my notes are gone again and I have to click the layout to get them back.
Wondering if I hit something by accident. Anyone have any suggestions?

Your issue may be due to a high 'Hardware Acceleration' setting wthin Windows. Here is an article with instructions for reducing this setting: KB Article 16471
