Contact Surname

Is it possible in contacts and opportunities to sort by Surname instead of the default First Name?

Kind regards

Re: Contact Surname

Go to Edit > Sort.  You can determine the sort on up to three fields.

Re: Contact Surname

Thanks

You can in Contacts but not in Opportunity.  Very Annoying.

Re: Contact Surname

Correct, the opportunity list doesn't give you as many options on contact fields.  Would it work to use the Opportunity name?  For example, if the contact name is Joe Blow and the Opportunity is ACT! 2011, name the opportunity "Blow - ACT! 2011".  Then, sort by the opportunity name.

Re: Contact Surname

Yeah, could do.  But a) that would be repeating unnecessary data and b) that'll take ages for me to update the rest of the opp's.

Thanks for you help.

Re: Contact Surname

The opportunity table doesn't have separate First Name and Last Name fields, only the contact field so the sort is by the whole name. With separate First Name and Last Name fields the contact table allows sorting my last name.
