We are using ACT! 2010. We are new at using the opportunities feature. We create a new opportunity from the contact after the contact info is entered. When we run an opportunity report, some opportunities listed are not associated with a contact (the contact field is just blank) and we don't know why. We don't even know how to create an opportunity except when in the contact, so how could we have opportunities on the report with no contact name associated? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you create an Opportunity from the Opportunity tab within the Contact Detail view, it should be automatically adding that contact to the new opportunity. The only situation that would cause it not to add the contact would be if the contact name had not been entered before clicking on 'new opportunity'.
To view the Opportunities that do not have contacts associated with them, go to the Opportunities view and select the List View. Contact is a default column and can be sorted (click on heading). You'll have to look at the problem Opportunities to see if there is a pattern (perhaps all created by the same Act! user...).
