I use Act Premium 2008, on a server, which I VPN into. When connected directly to the modem, I can VPN to server, open directory and subdirectory, and access PAD database. When I connect thru my router, I can VPN, get to directory, but cannot open database. I am sure it's some setting on my router, but cannot figure out what - suggestions?

Another possibility is that the VPN isn't propagating WINS properly (it's common), so the machine name isn't known.
Open the ACT! database PAD file with notepad and change the Host from the machine name to the server's IP address.
