Conflict between Act and other programs

I have experienced for the last few months a problem with my PC that I have no solution for. I have a 6 month old computer (4Gb RAM, 300 GB HD, Intel Duo Core Processor) running WIndows XP. It seems that Act is causing the computer to stop functioning properly. Once a few applications are opened and I start Act, I cannot access my network anymore or my documents; other applications such as outlook stop functioning properly as well. I have tried reformatting my computer and installing all software again and I have the same results.

 

Any ideas?

What version of ACT!? Full build from Help | About?

What version of Office?

Have you run all Windows and office updates?

 

Can you see if any errors in the log files as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into the knowledge database, but here's what I have so far:

 

Running Act 2009 - ACT! by Sage 2009 (11.0) Version 11.1.183.0

Running Office 2003

All updates are current

Have you updated ACT! to Hotfix 4 as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

If sharing the database, all users need to update.

 

Are you running any add-ons for ACT!?

 

But if you've updated as above... then see if you can find errors in those logs
