I'd like to be able to insert a command button into a custom tab that, when clicked, would generate a very simple email message. The trick is, I don't want the email sent to the active contact, I want the email automatically addressed to a couple of pre-defined users. The active contacts name would be embedded in the body of the email.
I figured out rather easily how to use a command button to bring up a report template. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to bring it up as an email ready to send, only as a word or ACT word processor document. I also can't figure out how to automate the To: email addresses.

There isn't a function within the Act! program to generate an email to someone other than the contact(s) selected (either on the detail or list views). And you are correct, adding the template as a toolbar command will only open it in the editor - not in an actual email. There is no option for opening the template directly into an email.
