Clear other users activities in version 18

Hi All,

 

I just upgraded to version 18 from 16 and now standard users cant clear other users activities. Calendar access is granted but no joy......

 

any ideas.........

Hi Seb,

We've replicated the issue you describe here and it will be logged as a defect. A workaround for this issue currently, would be to give your contacts with blank name fields, the name of (blank) or however you'd like to record the blank name. This can be done quickly en masse with the Replace Field tool after performing a lookup for contacts without data in the name field.

The second issue you mention:
We are aware of an issue where the activities tab won't update when clicking the arrows and moving between contacts. Are you seeing this in the Notes and History etc. tabs as well?

Hi Seb,

As a standard user, can you clear activities by right click menu? If not, can you schedule new activities for other users?
Are there any particular errors displayed when trying either of these suggestions?

Hi Gary,

it seems to be different for each standard user. Some can and some cant. I temporarily changed the users to Admin and this works fine but not ideal.

 

I have a much bigger problem with Act for Web as they have change the colour scheme to blue which includes all our colour coded activities in task list.

 

Also it is now not possible to open a contact if the "Scheduled with" is blank which is a mighty problem for our telesales.

 

any help with that would be much appreciated.....

Are the users who can't clear the activities able to schedule activities for other users?
Are those users experiencing errors when they try, or are they seeing the same inability to edit as a user without access would see?

We are aware of the missing activity colour issue in Act for Web, this has been raised as a defect. Currently colours are visible on the calendar interface.

I don't quite understand your last issue. Could you please explain some more, perhaps with steps to reproduce?

The other problem is as described. Activities in the task list cannot be selected if the contact name (Schedule with) is blank. You need to make the blank contact selectable as it was is 2016. You have done it in Contact list view is says "blank" so you can click on it and view the contact but not in task list??????? Really not impressed.

 

Contacts list view:

when you click on the arrow icon to move to the next contact it doesn't refresh everything else. If you hit refresh on the browser it just goes back to the contact you were at before.

yes thats what we are doing but we have 35,000 contacts.....

 

its not quick...
