We will have a user working remotely via VPN and our ultimate goal for security reasons would be to:
1. Allow him to attach documents via the Documents tab
2. Allow him to open the Documents attached to all Contacts
3. Not synchronize supplemental files to his remote database/computer
4. On the remote computer/database, change the default path to the Attachments folder so it will open via a mapped drive to our network, instead of residing on his local computer
I've warned the boss that it's highly unlikely, as I don't see any built-in ways to do this. Wondering if anyone had any ideas or at least a definitive "you can't do that" so I can report back.

Within the steps to create the remote database, you will be presented with the option for allowing Attachments and Supplemental files to synchronize (Database Synchronization Options screen).
You will not be able to change the path for the remote Attachments folder. The folder must exist within the 'Database Files' folder which must be in the same folder as the ADF and ALF files.
Option: Documents can be attached to the database as a 'Shortcut' from another folder.
