My company upgraded to Act 10 a few months ago and the user field lables didn't import with the conversion. I went into the design layout screen and was able to change one of them, but all data that was in the field was deleted. Any ideas how to 1. Get the data back, and 2. rename the remaining fields without losing the data?

I believe that what you need to do is convert your old layout. If you had renamed the user fields in the old version then the conversion would have created new fields with those name. Check Tool | Convert ACT! 3 - 6 Items.

When I go to Tools, Define Fields the details box shows the correct name, but the contact detail still shows User 1, User 2, etc. So the lables came over in the conversion, but for some reason aren't showing in the contact detail.
Also, if I do go to convert layout which layout should I choose?
