Change Activity default to Call

Hi All,

I have just upgraded to ACT 2011 (from 2008) and the activities all default to Appointment and I want them to default to Call. How can I set this up?

Hello Speaker,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. This was an unintended effect when we added the Appointment activity type to work with the new Outlook integration in Sage ACT! 2011. One of our add-on partners, Exponenciel, has developed a free add-on that will change the default activity type back to "Call". Here is the link:

I know it has been a long time since this post was published.  

 

I went to exponenciel's website and found the file.  It was downloaded and run.  The error message I received was "This can't run on your PC".

 

I tried reaching exponenciel, but could not find a place to enter a question.

 

Does anyone know if this program works with Ver. 18?

Hi John

 

It is now built into your version of ACT

 

Go to Tools - Preferences - Startup.

 

At the bottom you can change the default History Type.

that sort of helps - (why is it under start-up and not calendar and activities?) you can change the default history, but what about changing the default new schedule item - it currently is "meeting" - would like that to be call, and I can't find where to do that. (history default, yes - new scheduled activity, no)

go to the calendar, double click on an open time slot. the default activity is meeting - can that be changed?

Not that I know of, but why not just right click and schedule - this gives a choice of Activity types?

yes, it does - but I believe that less clicks and choices make things more efficient.

Pro v20 Update 8

I have set the History preference to a custom type "Calls"

When i click add new history it defaults to acts "Call"

 

How can I default to my custom type?
