Cant open ACT contact database after updgrade to Internet Explorer 10

just updated to Internet Explorer 10. 

 

Now ACT wont let me open my ACT Contact Database.

 

Error message reads "Microsoft SQL Server is not running"

 

any help out there?  I cant access my contacts or calendar so I am really struggling now.

Hi dhermes8150,

When you say Internet Explorer 10, could you perhaps mean Windows 10?
IE10 should not have an effect on SQL running.

What version of Act do you have installed?
What version of Microsoft SQL server do you have installed (check in Control Panel > Programs and Features)

I have Microsoft office 10

 

I meant to say I upgraded to Internet Explorer 11.

 

I have SQL Server 2008 R2 (updated on 3-29-2016)

 

I also have SQL Server 2005

 

what do you think I need to do

how do I find the Services.msc?
