Cannot export to excel or sync contacts with outlook

I'm using Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2 and Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows 7 Professional on my laptop. I had no problem exporting and syncing on my desktop with the same software except Windows Vista platform. I originally had the Sage software installed with 64-bit Office 2013 but since it wasn't compatible I uninstalled both and reinstalled the Sage software and Office 2007.

I'm able to click the icon to export to excel but then I get this error message: Unable to cast COM object of type

'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application'. This operation failed because the QueryInterfacecall on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D5-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: Library not registered. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002801D (TYPE_E_LIBNOTREGISTERED)).

Don't get much of a descriptive error messsage with the Outlook not syncing with ACT database. Pretty much just said it failed. Any help that can be provided would be great!

Re: Cannot export to excel or sync contacts with outlook

Researching this error, it would appear that some components of Office 2013 are still on the computer.

Options to try:
- Try running Diagnostics within Office 2007
- Uninstall Office 2007 and Sage ACT!, manually remove Office program files > reinstall Office, then Sage ACT!
- Uninstall Office 2007, install Office 2013 selecting 32-bit version

Re: Cannot export to excel or sync contacts with outlook

Hi,

Based on the information you provided in another post,http://community.act.com/t5/Community-Feedback/Cannot-export-to-excel/m-p/309521

The version of Office you are using is not compaitable with Act! 2009, Please try Office 2007.

Thank you,

Re: Cannot export to excel or sync contacts with outlook

based on the information that i provided its clear that (i dont know if you read it well)  , when i upgraded to office 365 which is 2013 i cant export my leads to excel and the button is greyed out!

NOTE:

AFTER INSTALLING THE OFFICE 2013 , MY COMPUTER NOW HAS " 2 OFFICE" , ONE IS 2007 AND ONE IS 2013" (HOPE THIS IS CLEAR)

So, i uninstalled the office 2013 (note: i still have 2007 in my computer ) and open ACt again the export to excel button is back to norma- meaning is not greyed out.  but when i clicked it i got that error.

thanks for the reply anyway thought its not helpful

Re: Cannot export to excel or sync contacts with outlook

Hi Abarriga,

Act! 2009 is not compatible with Office 2013.

The version of Outlook 365/ Office 2013 would need to be completely uninstalled than install Office 2007 again. If this still does not solve the error there may be components of Office 2013 still present at that point you would need an It person or Microsoft to assist in the removal.

Thank you,
