Cannot create local database; SQL is not installed locally.

[ Edited ]

Hello.  I installed Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0 Hot Fix 2.

When I try to create a local database I get the error as stated in my thread title.  I have the SQL server installed as the setup of Sage ACT! installed it alongside the program.

Upon going to my services to see if they were on: some were on and others were not.

I cannot start:

SQL Active Directory Helper Service - error code -107374174

SQL Service Agent (ACT7) - error code 1075

I can start:

SQL Server Browser

SQL Server VSS Writer

I have looked and tried to fix the issue on my own, but alas I cannot.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 with all updates installed.

Hi

ACT2011 and below are using SQL2005, and this is no more supported. as fahr as i am aware, act2011 will support SQL2008r2, you must just install the instance localy.   http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26994

in any case, my personal recomendation is to consider a upgrade to ACT17, as you then will have the full support (up to SQL2014). and the latest version. with ACT2011 you will face several "glitches"
