Cannot access shared database

I cannot access a shared database without turning off the firewall.  Act runs fine with the firewall turned off on the hosted machine.  I have added a number of exceptions to the firewall (Act and both instances of the SGLServ).  Still cannot penetrate the firewall>  Determined the port that act was accessing (4719) and added it to the exceptions, still not able to connect.

 

Both machines run XP.

 

Other then turning off the firewall, any other ideas?

Add exception for ports TCP 1433 and UDP 1434

I found replace the server name with its IP address in the PAD file will resolve connection issues.

 

Also try this!
