Re: Cannot access database or Actdiag with Act Pro 2011

There are three accounts on one PC. For two of the accounts everything including the Search works fine. But for one account I get this error and it occurs when searching, for example, for a last name or keyword.

Also, the error also occurs with this one account using the Demo database as well.

Where exactly are you searching in Act?

1-2: Lookups

3: Universal search

Your menu is a little different to mine. But looking at the example above, 2 (lookup) and 3 (search) produce the error but 1 (sidebar) actually works. This is for any kind of lookup including last name, state etc.

Oops, my No. 3 is universal search which wasn't introduced until Act 2012.
1 and 2 on yours essentially use the same functionality.

It could possibly be an issue with your local preferences, or a damaged Windows profile.
I would suggest rebuilding local preferences and testing again. Here's a KB on the subject: http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14770
