Cannot access database or Actdiag with Act Pro 2011

Cannot access database or Actdiag with Act Pro 2011

 

 

Get this error when I open ACT Pro 2011. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Oddly enough the ACT program icon is generic, not the usual icon.

I also get the same screen when I choose the PAD. When I choose the ADF I get this:

When I run Actdiag this is what:

I am running Windows 7 with three user accounts. Please help

It looks as though you may have a problem with the SQL Server component that Act connects to. Try uninstalling and re-installing SQL to see if that resolves your issue. Have a look at these articles.

You may also have to repair the Microsoft .NET framework on your system.

When we attempt to perform a contact search we get the error shown in the separate message.

Try sending a message using the " Report Inappropriate Content " from the message listing.

Have you tried the suggestions from emddouglas and are still getting the error you've posted?

The original suggestions allowed the ACT database to be opened. However, when a search was attempted the error message shown previously was displayed. This problem remains unresolved, please help.

It looks as though there is a permissions based issue, or Act is having trouble accessing a damaged file.

What kind of search are you attempting to make? I.e. Universal search, regular lookup etc?
Does the error occur on any other databases? I.e. The demo DB?
