Cannot access database after reinstall of ACT 2010

ACT! by Sage 2010 Version 12.0.409.0

Office 2007

The database is on my personal computer. I am the only one who accesses database. I am running Windows 7 Professional.

I was having problems with Outlook and Act 2010 working together. Happened after my company switched our email to Office 365. I decided to remove both Office and Act from my computer and reinstall to see if I could get them to sync up. The reinstall worked in getting them to function properly.

The problem I have now is when I try to open my database, I get the following error message: "Database.ADF is not a primary database". I hit okay on message and I get the following message: "Objective reference not set to an instance of an object". The database will not open. And of course, I did NOT backup my database though the ACT program before I did reinstall.

Any ideas on how I can assess this database? Thanks.

PS I am not a "tech" guy. Just a salesman.

Your database should be fine. This is an error with many solutions. Check the following article for a resolution:

Objective reference not set to an instance of an object

Re: Cannot access database after reinstall of ACT 2010

When opening ACT!, right click on the icon and select Run as Administrator.... Then open your database.
