Cannot access database - Check network connection, etc.

I have Act! v8.0.2.82 on a small Vista Server. There are 5 users attached to the database, 2 Vista SP1 and 3 XP SP3. All but one of the PC's can access and run the database. All the pad, alf, etc files are fine. Nothing has changed on the server or the culprit PC. No new software installs, updates, permission changes, etc. Was working most of the day. Lost network connectivity due to communications hardware swap at the phone panel but all services came back on line with no hiccups. Have done a database restore and repair. Rebooted several times. All other netowrk connections work (Internet, Outlook, etc.). Have looked at the fixes in this forum but none seem to apply. HELP!!!!!

Re: Cannot access database - Check network connection, etc.

Edit the PAD file and replace ACSSERV with the IP address of the server.

ACT! 2006 and Vista are not compatible.

What OS is the machine that cannot access the database?  Try editing the PAD with the IP address instead of the machine name.

Re: Cannot access database - Check network connection, etc.

Is an XP machine. All the other machines access the adf/adl fine with the pad as-is. Here's the pad content:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE ACTDatabasePADFile>
<!--This file represents a Pointer to an Act Database or [PAD]-->
<ACTDatabase name="customersdb" host="ACSSERV" location="C:\ACT\customersdb.ADF" type="Sql" />

This particular machine just stopped accessing the mdb file for no apparent reason. Was working it Act! and went to look up an entry. Could not pull it up, so closed the program and re-opened. No connection! Still had Internet, Outlook, and could even access the server from Windows Explorer. Drilled down to the actual adf/adl/pad files and tried to launch from there. Even though we could get to it, Act! still gave error.

How's this going  to affect the other machines ability to access the file(s)?

Re: Cannot access database - Check network connection, etc.

Did as outlined. Worked for every machine except the culprit. Nothing changed in it's ability to access the file(s). Did a "Repair" with the mfg CD last week trying to fix. Did not work either.
