Hi! I am using Act pro v. 16 Hotfix 2 (i think) and Outlook 2013. I am having trouble synching between Act and Outlook. This is the error message i am getting Provider type not defined exception HRESULT 0x80090017. Any help would be appreciated. Btw, the only thing i've tried is making sure i had the path entered into ACT correctly which i did.

Is there any more to the error message than that?
Was Outlook installed using Click-To-Run?

I am not sure what click and play means, but i don't think so. Here is what the error message is saying now.
Under Context it says: Synchronizing Activities
Under Description it says : The metadata store could not find the given replica in the database
Under Exceptions and Source it says: Microsoft.Synchronization.
My outlook is Exchange. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
Ty for your reply.

I have a client who is also encountering the same error message - The metadata store could not find the given replica in the database - when he trys to synch with outlook.
ACT V17 Pro, latest version of Outlook.
This is a new error message to me, any idea what the problem is and how to resolve it? There are no articles in the Knowledgebase referencing this particular error.
