Canned Email Responses

I know I have been asking a lot of questions recently.  I am very grateful for your help and excellent replies.

I am wondering if there is a feature in Act 2010 that allows canned email responses from a list of pre-defined responses I create?

Thanks

Re: Canned Email Responses

You mean creating ACT! document templates like this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1383...

If you mean including it in a Reply within Outlook, then yes... it would be an Outlook function.

if Outlook 2007, mabe this - http://lifehacker.com/343846/boilerplate-text-and-images-in-outlook

Re: Canned Email Responses

If you mean auto-responding when a user sends you an email, you can do this is a small scale with Outlook Rules... but it's not very good.

Better option is an  add-on such as FetchURMail - http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/68/1

Re: Canned Email Responses

I am more thinking a list of responses that I have already written (similar to draft emails maybe) that I can select and it inserts into the email ready to be sent...

Maybe this is an addon for outlook?

Re: Canned Email Responses

The outlook quick parts.  I never knew this was part of Outlook 2007!  Also, the template KB is useful as this is one of my next tasks.

A great feature of Act would be to add pre-define Quick Parts (or Canned Responses) so thatthe data is stored in the Act database and not reliant upon Outlook.

Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards

Paul

I don't know that Outlook allows apps to connect that way (modify an open email) ... to many virus apps would be able to use it.

Even to auto-attach incoming emails from Outlook to ACT! is done by creating Outlook rules (ACT! 2009 and later)

Re: Canned Email Responses

or maybe Act could be its own email client (and not use Outlook at all).
