Can you get the Dymo 400/450 to work with Windows server 2012 running terminal servers

We have been using the Dymo 450 for all our work stations (we currently have 20 of the printers) and love them.

Inside act there is a print Dymo button, it worked great until we upgraded to a terminal server with remote desktop.  Now the Dymo does not show up inside Act!,  we do see it as DYMO LabelWriter 450 (redirected) in word, excel Adobe etc… but do not see it inside the Act! Add in.

Is there  was way to fix this?  We don’t want to use the print servers because there is then a list of 20 printers that you have to select from .

thanks

Hello...  Quick question ... is the Add-in installed on the server?

How to Add Local drives and Printers to Remote Desktop Connection   CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO

You can also add the printer in the Control Panel of your Remote session...

 A. When you are inside the Server you go to the option Control Panel - Printers and Faxes, when you add the printer you will find two options:

 - A Network Printer
 - A printer connected to this equipment

You choose a printer connected to this equipment and you disable the Detect and Install option automatically

Then I send you select a printer port. There in this dialog box it gives you the option Use the following port and it slides you a list for the selection, in this list it is that the port with the format will appear:

TS: PORTATIL01: PR002

TS (Terminal Services)
Machine Name: (PORTATIL01)
Consecutive Number: PR01

You do not have to create the port.

You select the port and you give it next ...

and you know the rest.

Additional Note - Adding the DYMO icon to the toolbar in ACT!

  1. In ACT! go to Tools > Customize > Menus and Toolbars.
  2. Click on the Commands Tab.
  3. Under the Categories heading, select Tools.
  4. Under the Commands heading, scroll down until you see Print DYMO Label.
  5. With the left mouse button, click and hold down on the Print DYMO Label icon.
  6. While holding down on the left mouse button, drag the Print DYMO Label icon up to the toolbar in ACT!. You will now be able to print your contact information from ACT! by either clicking on the DYMO icon that appears in the ACT! Tools menu or the DYMO icon that appears in the ACT! toolbar.
