Can't open database

Currently operationg ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version, moved database files to another drive and haven't used ACT for many months.


Attempted to open database and have following error message


The database could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server.


Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. Given the information you provided, the most likely cause is either the SQL Server service is not running or the .PAD file for your database is damaged or invalid. Please see the following Knowledgebase article for solutions:

The causes I mentioned above are numbers 5 and 7 on the list at the top of the article - I would try them first.
