Our 3 networked computers can no longer connect to Act (running on 4th PC running Windows 7) - we get an error message saying the computer cannot be reached because the port "1434" may be blocked.
Turning off the windows firewall on the computer with the act database 'fixes' the problem but we prefer to have the windows firewall left on.
Tried restarting SQL services, etc. No change.
Can anyone provide detailed instructions on how to make Windows Firewall work with Act (Act pro v 22.214.171.124)?

You will need to allow SQL through the firewall on the host machine, you basically need to add SQLBrowser.exe and SQLSERVR.exe through it.
