I have been trying to configure ACT! Pro 2011 (v.13) email to be my main email program.
Thus, I am configuring the email as an Internet Mail (no Outlook, Eudora, Lotus notes, etc.)
I had been previously running my email through Thunderbird without problem, and all my POP, SMTP and their port numbers (which are standard, i.e. 25 and 110) are known.
Having input the proper information (which I have verified multiple times before posting this), when I go on to Test the connection (in the Advanced button in the Internet mail setup menu, the network is connected. However, the smpt and pop server as well as the test email fail.
I am currently running Windows 7 64-bit home premium, again, without Outlook.
I am NOT looking to go out and buy Outlook.
I have also tried installing Eudora (versions 5.2 and 7.0.1) without any success. It appears that they cannot be used as default programs for MAILTO protocols, because they are unable to modify or rename the necessary dll files.
Any input would be appreciated.
