Can't create company

Hi,

 

I'm trying to add a new company manually but the text boxes won't let me type anything and I have to delete the entry before I can even leave the company page?

 

Not sure why this is?

Hello mrkdvd and welcome to the ACT Community.

 

Can you give a little more inforamtion.

 

  • Are you creating the new record by adding a contact and company from the deailed contact view or are you adding from the company view.
  • Doe this happen on all efforts to create a company or on just one
  • Was the company field pre-populated with information

It is my personal recommendation that companies are to be created from the contact view after the first contact has been created.  Then go to contacts | create contact.

 

You also have the option to create a company based on the number of times a company name has been entered when creating contacts.  Go to Preferences | Admin | Companies | and there select the number of times the same company name has been created.
