Act! Tech Support helped me again to regain access to the ACT! database. I had written the steps when this happens bu backed it up on ACT Database...now the steps backed up on the laptop
Can't access database after WIN10 upgrade:
Step 1: on Windows search box, type Services.MCS
Step 2: Scroll down to SQL Server (ACT7)
Step 3: Right Click on SQL Server (ACT7)
Step 4: Click on Stop (DO NOT CLICK ON RESTART, this may cause database issues)
Step 5: Then Click on Start
Step 6: Close Services
Step 7: Open ActDiag,make sure the database is ONLINE
Step 8: if it works and the databases opens properly, smile, have a sip of coffee and then get back to work
OR
Step 8: If it doesn't work, call tech support at 866-873-2006
