It is a local. single user, database on a machine running Windows XP, Office 2003 and Act 2013 15.1.108.0. I just did the upgrade this morning and now I can't restore, import or otherwise open my original 2013 database as it is "locked by another user". I am the administrator for this database. I really need help here.

Try going to ACT Diag (Start, Run, ACT Diag), there, go to the database tab and look for your database in the list. Once you find it, you should see that it is locked. Right Click and choose Unlock.

Thank you for your prompt response. That worked.

Hi Jon,
I realise that this might be a few years too late but I have tried to run the actdiag solution however when I get to the page I cannot find my database, there is an unlocked Demo but there is not the database that I have currently been using, any tips on how I might find it or unlock it another way?
Thanks,
James
