Just installed Pro v18, upgrading from v15, on Windows 10.
Every time I try to run it, I get the error msg: "Resolution of the dependency failed, type = act.ui.actapplication", name =""." etc, etc.
There are loads of questions about this in the forums, going back for years (how on earth can a bug like this, even a multi-faceted bug, be allowed to continue for years?!)
I've tried everything I could find, nothing seems to work. Surely there's some way around this problem! I've uninstalled and reinstalled ... how can a clean install like this be so screwed up?!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I can't even go back to ACT! 2013 now!
I tried, and now here's what I get:

I did the following:
I reviewed http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/25865
I had already done everything on this list previously.
I reviewed http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38256/kw/Resolution%20of%20the%20dependency%20failed
This is more on the .NET stuff, the last two items from the previous file. I've already checked .NET; I'm running Windows 10, which includes .NET, and anyway the checks I did on .NET earlier told me .NET is fine.
I reviewed http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37947/kw/Resolution%20of%20the%20dependency%20failed, which refers to the Microsoft .NET file called System.Xaml, which I replaced earlier.
Can someone out there tell me how I can get ACT running!?

Do what you haven't, uninstall ACT! and .NET and then reinstall.

Did you try deleting your preferences? There is a KB on how to do it.
