Can not access database since Act Pro 2012 had an update

I'm now getting an error message, "The Database could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server.

The message is generally an indication that the SQL Server (ACT7) service is not running.  Use the instructions in this article to check the service: KB Article 28216

 

Note: If the database is located on a different computer, you will need to check the service on that computer.
