Can I use variable in command line - "custom command"

I have a number of searches with the same name that are commonly used by different users and I would like to set up a customer toolbar with custom commands to call the searches. I understand how to do this but as these searches are called the same thing but are just in different pathnames I was wondering if I can use some kind of variable.

Search paths are...

x:\act\dbasename\dbasename files\queries\username\xxx.CRY

The only thing that changes is "username" is it possible to enter a "command line" entry in the "custom Command" that will evaluate some kind of variable to work out the username?

I have tried just adding %username% but this eems to be ignored.

Thanks,

Mick

Hi Mick,

I don't think your idea will work but perhaps you would like to try using Dynamic Groups.

These will enable you to put the different  values into the fields you specify and save them under different Group names.
