In Outlook I get an email from a new contact and I click "Create Act Contact" button and enter the information.
Question is I'd like to add the ID/status field to that form so I don't have to switch over and find the contact and change the field in ACT.

This option may work for you ?
You can set a default value to a ACT! field such as ; ID/Status
Then select the appropriate field name ( ID/Status)
Edit Field etc...and you will see how to set a default value.
Not sure about the outlook side of things re this matter?
