Caller ID recognition

I have just come back to ACT after being away from it for years. I remember in an early version that there was a feature where caller id would bring up the callers information on the screen. I can't find that feature in Version 10. Is it there somewhere or has it been discontinued?

Re: Caller ID recognition

Have a look in Tools, Preferences, Communication, Dialer.

Re: Caller ID recognition

Hi Neil.

Thanks for the note.

I have the modem operational and can dial out but when someone calls me, it does not recognize the incoming call and bring up the caller's record.

I don't see anything else under setting up the dialer that would relate to this. What am I missing?

Re: Caller ID recognition

The ACT! Preferences recognise the dialer. It is the software that comes with the dialer that enable the functionality. Check with the manufacturer.

You might also check Dial It from here http://www.crmaddon.com/en/products/act-with-addons-and-hosting/dial-it-efficient-phone-workflow.htm...

It includes a utility to check the functions of the dialer.

Re: Caller ID recognition

Hi Neil.

As best I can tell, the PCI simple modem does not support caller ID. That would definitely explain why it is missing.

Thanks for the hlep
