Calendar and Contact Display Issues

I've read a number of threads regarding calendar display issues and the only current solution seems to be setting the dpi back to 96.  In addition to the calendar, I am having the problem on the contact screen where the tabs don't display.  Even at 96 dpi (which is unworkable) only the tab headings display down at the very bottom.

I'm using Act! for Real Estate (2008) and have the latest version installed on a laptop with a 17" monitor (1440 x 900 pixels, 120 dpi) running Windows Vista.

Are you able to drag the tabs up so that they display in the middle of the screen?  If not, there is a manual configuration setting you can change to position the tabs:

- Close ACT!

- Open Computer from the Start menu

- Browse to the following path C:\Documents & Settings\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\ACT\Act for Windows 10\Preferences.

Note: This path is for Vista users. Windows XP users would browse to C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\ACT\ACT for (version#)\Preferences

- In this directory, locate the USpreferences206.xml file.  Right-click on it and select Open With, then choose Notepad

- When the file opens, press Ctrl+F on your keyboard to do a search of the document.  Search for CONTACTDETAILSPLITTERPOS

- When the result is highlighted, you will see a value for CDATA in brackets.  Change this value to 250.  The lower the value, the higher up the screen the tab row will be.

- Go to File/Save to save your changes

- Open ACT! and see if the tabs are visible

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
