I am at my wits end.
Apparently I have a corrupted prefences file.
I tried deleting the preferences file through actdiag with no success. Upon relaunching ACT! I do not get the dialog box referenced in step 7.
Using the alternate method.
I go through all of the steps.
Again, upon relaunching ACT! I still do not get to the setup wizard.

I am sorry to hear about the difficulty you are having with the preferences file. To get a better understanding of the issue, please provide some additional information:
What is the reason you feel the file is corrupted and are trying to delete it?
What version of ACT! are you using
What is the operating system you are using?
What issue or error are you seeing when you try to manually delete the "Act for Windows(version#)" directory?
