I am looking to Sync up 2 ACT databases so that contact info and notes are consistent between the two. What I don't want is to sinc alarms. Is there a way to sync the 2 databases without having my alarms appear on my coworker's computer and visa-versa?

No, there is not a way to do that, but then, it doesn't matter.
When activities are scheduled, they are only set to alarm the person for who (whom -?) they were scheduled.
So unless you are creating activities for both of you, they will never alarm the other person.
Further, you can set the filters on calendars so that you only see the activities of yourself, if so desired.
