Backing up and Moving

Hi all

I am new user of ACT and don't have a clue about the software. So please bear with me.

I have installed the software on my wife's PC as she has bought a company that use ACT

We now want to transfer the data from one machine to another. A guy who used to help the former owner

of the company backing up the files made a mess of it as it wants

1) Zipped

2) Trying to install it it said this is not an ACT file or something like that

I now need to know

How to transfer the data from one PC to another without loosing the former data as for a very short time we need both

machines until we are satisfied that all data has been transferred

I want to thank all already now for taking time to read this and hopefully can help me with this software

Thx

Re: Backing up and Moving

Hi Ian, and welcome to the community!

If you're using version 2013, you can use the Move Database feature to make it a little easier. Steps are outlined in this article: http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30304/kw/30304

If it's an older version you can follow the steps in this article: http://answers.sagesoftwareonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19818/kw/move%20database

I hope this helps!
