Attaching outlook history - Missing master database

[ Edited ]

I am very new with ACT. I am actually helping someone else with a problem they have attaching outlook emails to ACT.

Version: ACT! by Sage Premium 2009 (11.0) Version

Their setup is that they have few PCs on the network accessing the same database that is stored in one of the machines.

Content of PAD file:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?>
<!--This file represents a Pointer to an Act Database or [PAD]-->
<ACTDatabase name="ACT_TD" host="MY_PC" location="C:\ActData\Databases\database.ADF" type="Sql" />

What happens after sendig an email, the email along with the xml file is stored in HistoryQueue, the act.oulook.service tries to attach the email, but fails with Missing Master Database exception.

Content of XML file:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?>
<outlookhistory type="0" messagefilelocation="C_x003A__x005C_Documents_x0020_and_x0020_Settings_x005C_NEC_x005C_Application_x0020_Data_x005C_ACT_x005C_ACT_x0020_for_x0020_Windows_x0020_11_x005C_HistoryQueue_x005C_tmpA99.msg" formatoptions="2" historyprivateoption="false" recordtosender="false" recordtoemailcontacts="true" quickattachcontacttype="none" excludemyrecord="false" createmissingcontacts="true" encoded="true">
    <data name="host" value="MY_PC" encoded="true" />
    <data name="database" value="database" encoded="true" />
    <data name="username" value="user" encoded="true" />
    <data name="password" value="" encoded="true" />
  <emailquickinfo deliverytime="_x0031_9_x002F_09_x002F_2010_x0020_5_x003A_06_x003A_21_x0020_AM" subject="This_x0020_is_x0020_for_x0020_test" encoded="true" />
    <emailaddress type="To" displayname="user" smtpaddress="edited" encoded="true" />

ad the error message:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
  <error type="LastError">
    <lastdatetime>19/09/2010 3:45:56 PM</lastdatetime>
    <firstdatetime>19/09/2010 3:45:56 PM</firstdatetime>
    <message>Missing master database.</message>
  <error type="Act.Framework.MissingMasterDatabaseException">
    <firstdatetime>19/09/2010 3:06:32 PM</firstdatetime>
    <lastdatetime>19/09/2010 3:45:56 PM</lastdatetime>
    <message>Missing master database.</message>

I have checked all settings and configurations and have not been able to resolve this problem. This started happeneing a few weeks ago. As they told me, it was working just fine before.

***And this only happens to the one that hosts the database file. All other systems on the network are working fine.***

I will really appreciate any help I can get.

Hello Hameed,

Welcome to the Act! Online Community!

You mention that you have checked the settings - have you tried removing the Act! Address Book from Outlook > close and reopen Outlook > then readd the Act! Address Book > again close and reopen for changes to take effect.  Then test attaching an email.

Also, what version of Outlook are you running?
