After sending the email, it will attach to the contact.
Then open the item for the email in the Contact's History and click the button to the right of "Share With"
This will allow you to select an Opportunity to link the History to

How do I attach an email to an opportunity using ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.3.182, Hotfix 1?
Is this possible? When I open an email in History I don't see the "Share With" option that you described.

Now you can attach an E-mail to an ACT! opportunity for ACT! 2010 or 2011, Pro or Premium.
Just released, an update to our free add-on at FreeActAddons it will also allow you to create an opportunity from an Outlook E-mail: -
Please ensure that you read the Read Me text file before installing to ensure compatibility with Outlook 2003 and 2007.

I just tried your free application and followed the installation instructions in the readme file. However this doesnt seem to have done anything.
Pity, as it looked like it might solve the issue i have with opportunity documents \ email attaching

I am not understanding if you have a general ACT! issue of e-mail not attaching and hoping to solve it or do you want to be able to attach an e-mail to an ACT! Opportunity that you can't ordinarily do in ACT! without an add-on
Please advise the version of ACT! and version of Outlook.

That is one of the best features in eMailConnect Pro. It is an ACT addon and one I've been using for over 2 years.
I am not associated with them, just like using the produc t.
You can find it at www.actaddons.eu.
