Attaching Documents to Act 2009

I have a question concerning the attachment of  documents to Act 2009 contacts/records.

Is there a problem if there are to many contacts in an Act database with documents attached?  If so how large can an Act data base be (number of contacts/records) before it impacts performance, ie, searches, sycrhonizing the database, etc.?

The documents I am attaching range form 35 to 100 KB.

The database size limit is 4GB without attachments.  There isn't a set amount before you'll start seeing a degrade in performance.  This is dependent on the environment and how well maintained the database is.  As far as maintaining the database, I suggest running a check/repair weekly.

Thank you.  That helps me in my planning.  Are there addons which can allow me to link a document to an Act record to avoid degrading the database's performance.
