An Act 7 instance of microsoft sql server 2005 has been detected.

Trying to install on home vista, and I'm getting the following;

An Act 7 instance of microsoft sql server 2005 has been detected. However we are unable to connect and verify existing sql server 2005 installed is supported for Act! Premium 2007

Any help would be appreciated.

Open Add/Remove programs from the control panel.  Locate the line item referencing Microsoft SQL Server.  Select it and choose "Change" or possibly "Uninstall".  This will display a listing of installed SQL instances.  If there is one listed there called ACT7, choose it and select "remove".  Once completed, you should then be able to install the product.

Matt;  I tried what you suggested and didn't see the ACT7 file liste. All I saw was the Microsoft SQL Servers, Native Clients, Setup support file (english) and the VSS writer.   Please advise,  Thanks, Joe

I think that the quickest way to get you running is to download the ACT! Uninstall utility from the ACT! support site.  The knowledgebase article ID is 19338.

Allow the utility to remove the ACT7 instance and reboot as required.

You should then be able to install the product as expected.

thanks,
