I do a contact directory (example: companies I do business with in a state) and then make a file in My Docs. Then I send this to someone as an email attachment and the contacts are alphabetized by last name. I would prefer it be by company name.

Thank you. The company names are in Alphabetic order but when go to Reports and do a contact directory it comes up alphabetized by last name and there does not seem to be an option to resort by company name.

While what Greg says is technically correct, because the contact record does include the company name, the report can be sorted by the company name. To do that you must edit the template. Open the template for editing and click on Edit | Sections. In the dialog click on the section right below the Page Header and choose Copoany as the field to sort on.
