I just upgraded to Windows 7 and have a problem with alarms. Now, they do not pop up on the screen unless I'm in ACT. If I'm in any other program, I am not notified. BTW, for personal preferences, I have sounds turned off, so that is not an option.
Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated?
On another note, can ACT 2010 be run on a netbook?

Did you have this issue in your previous O/S (XP or Vista I assume). Do you the alarm window mininmized in the taskbar? This may a Windows 7 setting with the way popup windows are handled.
I regards to netbooks, I am not aware of any testing we have done on netbooks, but if the machine has a fully functional version of a supported operating system, then there is no reason why ACT! shouldn't work on it.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
