Hi there,

I have a user who is using Act Professional 8.0, she has a query which is as follows,

when she schedules a call, she obv gets the pop alarm telling her that she is due a call and gives her the Contact name and number, but she wants to know if it is possible for the popup alarm to show the Company name as well/instead of the Contact name

Any help would be Great

Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community. In regards to your question, that functionality was not added to the program until ACT! 2010.

Re: Alarm Popup Query

Hi Greig,

Regarding alarms, we are using ACT 2011 and in our previous version our alarm pop up box would pop up and the alarms continued to sound until we addressed all of the reminders in the pop up box but now we don't seem to have that option in this newer version. You can set the number of times you want it to alarm you but that is only helpful if you are at your desk when the alarm goes off.  If you are out of the office and come back to your desk, there is no alarm sounding to let you know and the pop up box could be buried behind other programs you have open.  Is there a setting to have the alarms sound until you either snooze them or clear them?  Thanks. Re: Alarm Popup Query

Hello Carey,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. Unfortunately, the alarm window is just a popup that can knocked down by another window opening. We could perhaps remedy this by adding an "Always on top" option to the alarm preferences - this would always put the alarm window in front of other windows. If you could, please submit this is as a feature request for our product managers in the Share Your Ideas board in this forum (it carries more weight coming from a customer). Thanks!

Re: Alarm Popup Query

Thanks Greig.  What I am more interested in however, is knowing how to set the alarm to continue to sound until I have either cleared them from the pop up window or snoozed them.  That is how our prior version of ACT behaved.  It would beep every few seconds until we addressed the pop up window.  This version only has the ability to beep for a certain number of times or a certain number of seconds.  That doesn't work if you are not at your desk when the alarm sounds.  Did they take that feature out of the new versions or is it hidden somewhere as a preference that I can't find?  Thanks.

Re: Alarm Popup Query

If you are talking about the sound, you can control the duration by going to Tools > Preferences > Calendar & Scheduling tab > Scheduling Preferences > Customize Alarms.

Current behavior:
- If you simply close the alarm box, it will reappear a view minutes later
- If you select "Clear", the selected alarms are cancelled
