Advanced Query

I any doing an query  on a custom field call status - "active" and a couple of date fields

First Line

Type - Contact

Field name - Status

Operator - Equal to =

Value - Active

And

Second Line

Type - Contact

Field name - COI

Operator - On/before

Value - 04/30/2012

and/or - OR

Third Line

Type - Contact

Field name - Auto

Operator - on/before

Value - 04/30/2012

END

problem is the look up goes back to the full data base and list all of the status ( active, inactive) with correct information on the dates.. What am I going worng?????

Re: Advanced Query

How are you grouping with parenthesis?

Re: Advanced Query

I am not using parenthesis. I did try using them on the first line, that didnt work. I try them on first line (open) and last ine(closed) again notthing..

Re: Advanced Query

Try placing an open parenthesis at the start of the second line and a close parenthesis at the end of the third line and see if that works.

With all due respect, you need to study how to set up an advanced query. Grouping becomes very important in an advanced query when you are mixing Boolean AND and OR operators.
