Administrator Access

I am running ACT 2010 - Version 12.0.409.0 Hotfix 3 on Windows 7

Message keeps coming up "Upgrade to new version of ACT" and when I click on it, it informs me that I must be the Windows Administrator.

I am the windows administrator - I'm the only one on this system.  BUT I am Windows administrator as Charlie and ACT administrator as Charles H. Do these have to be the same?  OR what?  How do I update my version of ACT?

Thanks,

Charlie H

Re: Administrator Access

Hello Charlie,

Welcome to th.e ACT! Online Community. This message is due to Windows 7 user account control. To get around this, close ACT!, then reopen it by right-clicking on the program icon and selecting "Run As Adminstrator" (instead of double-clicking). If this does not resolve then you will need to lower the settings for or disable User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7. Instructions are in Knowledgebase article 25665.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
