I have some 30,000 contacts (it is a voting list.) Every two years i receive two new fields on each contact in tab delimited format. The new and old contacts have voter ID numbers. Can i add just the two new fields and keep the other data in my database? I will be making updates, changes to the main list of contacts through out the two years that i do not want to loose.

Providing the fields are new ... ie there is no data in them, you can do this as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -
If you need to update fields that already have data, then you need an add-on such as itImport
