Adding a history of marketing campaigns to different contacts

Hi, i'm trying to figure out how to add a history of email marketing to my act database. We have CSV files which contain records of when somebody has opened up one of our email messages and we want to attach them to the profiles of the relevant contacts. However, every time we add one it removes the previous data and replaces it with the new one, rather than adding to it. We've played with all of the settings when trying to import data but it just doesn't seem to like it.

 

We've created a field labelled 'acquisition' and have added each of the campaigns exactly as they appear in the csv files. We need to work out how to add to it rather than replacing it. 

 

Any ideas on how to fix this?

You ought to look into using Swiftpage for sending campaigns.  Integrated with act and rights back results into history.

 

Aside from that, you will need to get a third party import/merge tool to do what you request - such as OakMerge...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we looked at Swiftpage some time ago but it doesn't offer us enough flexibility on our campaigns plus we have our own bespoke mailing tool built in house.

 

Are there any other options other than using something like Oakmerge?

Would marking the field to 'generate history' work for you?
